VP Binay hopes to persuade M.V. Pangilinan (MVP) to run as his VP in 2016. After all, MVP already has the money and the network to make things happen. Better yet, he has the business acumen to make Binays economic programs look good. Unfortunately: (1) theres nothing VP Binay can offer MVP that the latter doesnt already have -- money, power and the liberty to do what he wishes with them; (2) by running, MVP will need to finance not only his own campaign but likely that of the entire party, as well; (3) if MVP wins, hell have to divest himself completely of all his business interests, as required by law, and; (4) MVP will have to file his annual Statements of Assets & Liabilities (SALNs). Not that he may have hidden anything but that would certainly make Kim Henares very interested. The one bright thing I see in this: MVP just might teach the VP a thing or two about, not only being seen as making a living in a defensible way, but actually making a living in an honest, transparent manner without quibbling or being evasive about it.
