Vacancy Manager and Play Worker Do you enjoy working with children in the 0-5 age group? A vacancy has arisen for a manager and play worker for the Lorn Toy Library to oversee the day-to-day running of the Toy library. The job entails the organization and running of play sessions, local fundraising activities, outreach work to those who would benefit from Toy Cupboard as well as general management duties. The vacancy is for 15 hours per week all year round (11 + 4 if Gaelic speaker) This includes 3 hours (9.30 – 12.30 approx.) for Friday open session, all year except Christmas and New Year; 2½ hours (1.15 – 3.45 approx.) for Tuesday open session, term time only; and 2½ hours (9.45 – 12.15 approx.) for Monday Gaelic session, term time only. Planning, preparation and management hours can be done when convenient. One year reviewable contract. Statutory holidays. Pay: £4000 - £5400 per annum not including Gaelic playwork and depending on qualifications and experience £5400 - £7400 per annum if Gaelic speaker and depending on qualifications and experience N.B. Funded training in Gaelic conversation can be provided Essential Requirements: Good organizational skills, an ability to interact with young children and their parents in a positive and friendly manner. Beneficial Qualification: Any child care or teaching related qualification. Beneficial Experience: Fluent Gaelic speaker. Experience of running a playgroup or similar. Basic IT skills.
