Vacancy: Project Manager Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) Salary: 900 USD Deadline: 2 August, 2013 Duration: 10 months Location: Osh, Kyrgyz Republic Start date: Early August 2013 Background The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) is a leading NGO in Central Asia with established presence in three countries –Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. EFCA Kyrgyzstan currently employs over 30 staff with two permanent offices in Bishkek and Osh. The organization implements projects funded by bilateral and institutional donors including USAID, World Bank, EU, the US and Finnish governments, and the corporate sector. EFCA has a proven track record in implementing quality projects at grassroots level based on its understanding of local context and needs. The organization builds capacity of local communities through citizen participation and public private partnerships to strengthen democratic governance as well as economic and social opportunities. EFCA key program areas include promotion of transparency and social accountability, conflict prevention, corporate social responsibility, youth empowerment, and inclusion of vulnerable groups – education and access to justice-. About the Women’s Peace Bank project Women’s Peace Bank is a 2-year USAID-funded project (June 2012-June 2014) aiming to promote women’s role in local peacebuilding initiatives. The project supports women-led reconciliation and conflict mitigation in 16 districts of Osh and Jalalabad cities. Responsibilities The Project manager will oversee implementation of all project activities and ensures outputs are in line with project objectives and donors expectations. S/he will be responsible for the project overall coordination and monitoring and evaluation activities. Under the supervision of EFCA Executive Director, the Project Manager will perform the following tasks: 1. Project management Manage human, material and financial resources related to project implementation Coordinate project activities with EFCA staff, partners, beneficiaries, and donors Represent EFCA in meetings with NGOs, donors, and other development actors Organize field visits for USAID and other partners 2. Reporting, Evaluation, and Communication Liaise with project coordinator and EFCA staff on monitoring and evaluation requirements Drafting results-oriented reports for donors in close cooperation with EFCA Bishkek office Organize public relations activities incl. press conference and produce branding material Core competencies Excellent budget planning and organizational skills Working knowledge of Russian and proficiency in English Sound monitoring, writing and reporting skills Previous experience in managing gender sensitive initiatives Ability to work with a minimum of supervision Computer-literacy including proficiency of Word, Excel and Power Point Willingness to regularly travel to different locations in Southern Kyrgyzstan Strong networking, interpersonal and presentation skills Education and work experience Graduate degree in Development and Peace Studies, International affairs, or comparable qualification in social sciences; At least 2-3 years of work experience in managing projects for the non-profit sector, preferably in post-conflict areas.
