Vacancy: Provincial Clinical Advisor Location: Right to Care, Thabo Mofutsanyana District, Free State Reporting to: Provincial Programme Manager Required Qualifications and Experience: • MBCHB • 3 years experience in Public health, 2 years management experience • Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Officer • Sound knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDS, TB and STI care • Diploma in HIV Management is an added advantage • Post graduate qualification in either of the following: HIV/ AIDS/ TB/ STI, an added advantage Key Performance Areas/ Description of Duties: Clinical Mentorship • Provide clinical mentoring, support and coaching for medical officers and NIMART trained nurses • Identify and develop skills of potential mentors • Develop standard operating procedures for the provision of HIV clinical care • Follow-up mentees throughout the duration of the mentorship • Participation in clinical meetings and teleconferences • Work with District/Sub-district management to lead and facilitate the implementation of new programs and policy recommendations • Work with facility managers and multidisciplinary staff to improve facility processes and HIV services • M&E: Submit monthly reports on training and technical assistance activities, as well as findings and recommendations for strengthening clinical services. • Other duties as assigned Clinical care • Support implementation of the HIV/AIDS/STI/TB comprehensive care programme at facility level • Support management of patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS/STI/TB according to national and provincial guidelines • Develop and support strategies to foster continuation of treatment • Participation in HAST/ART and related meetings Research • Keep abreast with present developments in the field • Participate in relevant research projects Networking • Liaise with local community clinics • Establish HIV/AIDS/STI/TB clinics at present and new facilities • Attendance of academic meetings and membership of Professional Council Training • In-service training of medical, nursing and allied healthcare workers • Didactic lectures at Regional Training Centres, symposiums, and clinical forums • Clinical guidance to management. • Provide guidance on clinical content of training and curriculum • Participation in local clinical grand rounds • Keep abreast with present developments in the field Legislation, Standards, Policies and Procedures • Familiarise self with rules and regulations of the Health Act and other relevant legislation. • Familiarise self with Right to Care standards, policies and procedures.
