Vacate Nigeria Now, NSCDC Commandant Warns Vandals The Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ade Abolurin, yesterday warned vandals sabotaging critical infrastructure of government in the country to immediately vacate the nation as the corps has re-strategised to stamp out their activities. This is even as he disclosed that his agency has deployed a reasonable number of its personnel nationwide to resist any form of disorder ahead the November 1 handling over of power facilities in the country. He called on people who engage in vandalism, oil theft and illegal refining to desist and vacate country, as such acts would no longer be condoned in the country. The Corps boss who gave this warning at the corps Academy in Sauka, Abuja, while addressing the 36 states commandants and top management officers on new security measures, said the agency had put adequate measures in place to combat the activities of the hoodlums in Nigeria. Abolurin lamented the negative impact of their activities on the actualisation of the transformation agenda of the President of the country, Goodluck Jonathan, and said the Corps was well equipped to tackle the situation. “We have already issued a quit notice to vandals in the country. This is the right time for them to relocate as we have adopted new strategy to rid them from this country. If they refuse to leave, we will force them out. “Our men have been directed to protect oil installations in the country and other critical assets of government,” he said. The CG further called on various communities and major stakeholders in the country to key in and assist the personnel with information that would aid in stamping out of the activities of vandals in the country. He also charged the top management team to collaborate with other security agencies as well as host communities in combating oil theft in the country. “Oil theft has been a major challenge for the country as she is losing a huge amount of her estimated income to the thieves,” he noted.
