Seventeen Nittany Lion seniors were introduced before the game and helped Penn State improve to 17-1 in Senior Day games since 1990. Connors 11 tackles, including one for loss, gave him 379 stops, moving him past All-American Paul Posluszny (372) and into the all-time tackle lead. Junior Sean Lee led all players with 12 tackles and two forced fumbles, including a crucial strip and recovery at the goal line in the first quarter. Anthony Morellis 210 yards passing gave him a season total of 2,060 passing yards, making him the first Penn State quarterback to have at least 2,000 yards passing in multiple seasons. Redshirt freshman tailback Evan Royster also had a strong performance, recording his first career 100-yard rushing game, totaling 126 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries (6.0).
