Vaccine-preventable diseases remain a major cause of death for children. The leading causes of infant and child mortality across Somalia includes pneumonia (24%), diarrhoea or rotavirus diarrhoea (19%), measles (12%), neonatal disorders (17%), malaria (3%), trauma (3.5%), and other (20%). The first of these three major child killers accounting for approximately 55% of deaths are vaccine-preventable.
