Val & Laddie.... a love affair. Step back a few years to the National Western Stock Show when Simpson Percherons took the win with Jason Bexson at the helm. Both Jason and Val made their wins look easy, especially Val when she drove her favorite gelding, Laddie. When the Bexsons eventually returned to Canada, Laddie promised to break Vals heart if she had to leave him behind, so the Percheron gelding found himself becoming Canadian and has been a part of the Bexson family ever since. Hes helped to raise three boys, and has always been a steady athlete whenever he donned the harness. Today marks the end of an era as Laddie took the ring one last time with his lady, Val, at the lines. What a way to finish your career with yet another win. Emotional, yes. Beautiful, always! Happy retirement old friend ~ you wore your harness well. To Jason & Val, thanks for letting me be a part of this chapter.
