#ValenzuelaCity’s Comprehensive Disaster Preparedness Plan is to build the Allied Local Emergency Response Teams or #ALERT Center, a government complex where all disaster preparedness and response divisions are clustered together, housing the Disaster Preparedness Building (to open in 2015), Central Fire Station, Red Cross Volunteer Center (opening in 2015), and the VC Tent (opening in 2016) an events place convertible to an evacuation center or packing area in times of disasters and calamities. The ALERT Center is strategically located in a flood-free area and in the safest position that can withstand all kinds of disasters. It straddles both congressional districts and is also located between two major roads, MacArthur Highway and Maysan road. Once the ALERT Center is done, it will serve as the brain of the disaster preparedness and response of the city, making coordination between disaster response units faster and more efficient. Tomorrow, we are opening one of the facilities of the ALERT CENTER, the newly built and modern Valenzuela City Central Fire Station, just across the Government Center (City Hall).
