Vanity Card # 21 “Naari Shakti” There is nothing more spectacular than watching God’s most beautiful creation driving (Hu)man’s most beautiful one. Last week I was in Bangalore, and one thing that made me really happy everyday on my way to work was the huge number of women driving cars. Some of them relaxed, driving with a strange confidence; while others climbed on the steering wheel trying to measure the gap between the bumpers. I felt some kind of proud for each one of them. Even though some of them were causing traffic jams, but I still felt proud. People generally don’t miss a single chance to make fun of women’s driving, and sometimes even discourage them from it. And it is true that a majority of female drivers are nervous and scared while driving. But, what people actually miss is that, the reason behind it is our discouragement and lack of sports or video games in their childhood — the everlasting gap between the genders. I want to appreciate the efforts of Indian government to have made the 66th Republic Day theme based on women empowerment. Let us all start from our houses and provide a better environment to the girls in our houses to someday walk proudly next to the President of America.
