Various businesses and organizations around Lake County are asking the public to donate school supplies to help students in need for the upcoming school year. School supplies can be dropped off at The Salvation Army in Painesville until this Friday. The Salvation Army is located at 69 Pearl Street. Those who would like to make a monetary donation can text the word BACKPACK to 80888. If you have any questions please call Donna Bullis at 440.357.2008 or e-mail her at [email protected] Levin Furniture in Mentor also has a collection bin for school supplies. The bin will be at Levin, located at 7799 Mentor Avenue, until Friday, August 8. Walmarts in Mentor, Eastlake and Madison will have collection bins near the entrance of their stores until Sunday, August 17. Customers are encouraged to purchase school supplies and then donate the items to the collection bin. All donations will then be distributed to local schools prior to the school year to help students in need. #StayConnected
