Various team members took part in a major exercise at Christ’s Hospital School last night which involved nearly 100 members of the emergency services and representatives from the local authorities. Team members Stuart (Hor13), Jason (Hor06) and the schemes Treasurer (Chris) all played casualties who were fully made up with wounds and placed in various parts of the smoke filled school awaiting rescue. Marc (Hor01) played his role as a CFR and with Pauline (Sou02) from the Southwater team were the first emergency services to arrive at the chaotic scene to treat the initial casualties to be rescued by the fire service. This two hour exercise which was requested by the school had the emergency services rescuing 35 casualties after a (simulated) explosion at the school, from within the tunnels under the school, down from scaffolding and from within various smoke filled rooms. It was a good for team members to partake in this exercise and experience from both sides what would happen.
