Venu Gopal, a 13 year old boy studying in 8th grade from a local school in Bangalore always felt a degree of nervous apprehension when preparing to speak up or perform in front of his friends and teachers. His stage fright exacted a huge toll on self-confidence and self-esteem. He never knew how to overcome it, that’s when he got a chance to attend one of the Dream outdoor experiential camp. In the 4 day camp, Venu not just had loads of fun but also learned critical life skills such as communication, team work, discipline, overcoming difficulties and understanding instructions. In one of the camp activity, he was given the task of emceeing a show where all his friends were present. He performed with such ease and confidence that at the end of the show a thunderous applause boosted his morale further. Venu could not believe himself and said “Now i am confident to raise my hand in class and answer or perform in a group. This camp is a life changing experience for me remarked Venu with a smile.
