Verses divulging the next step in light of the commitment one has - TopicsExpress

Verses divulging the next step in light of the commitment one has already made in their heart. One may say, “Acts 2:38,” while the others says, “Show more evidence why.” Christ mentions baptism Himself, but scripture instructs one to do this in other places as well. Paul was well educated in the “Law”, and that of doing “Works”. He did not baptize many, but his main point was to emphasize the Grace of God above that of works, not to mention him being the main one dedicated to bringing the Gospel to the Gentiles. However, it must be noted that he himself was baptized as well (Acts 9:18). Verses for evidence, and showing reason and purpose: (1 Peter 3:18-21) “18 Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. 19 So he went and preached to the spirits in prison— 20 those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood. 21 And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” (NLT 2004) Not forgetting to add, one should do all things, be it word or deed, in the Name of Jesus Christ always. (Acts 2:38 (KJV) / Col, 3:17 (KJV) / Tob, 12:6 (NRSV)) For KJV only, sorry but if you have issues with this version I cannot change that. I would suggest finding credible sources, and doing some studying of some versions and why they differ. Then incorporate the chosen version as verse comparison, in-order to help clarify the context of the message one reads in the KJV. References: Holy Bible: King James Version WORDsearch CROSS e-book.
