Very important... Dont get hung up on the label high vs low. Ive seen this many times... Oh my child has autism but is high functioning sometimes with a tone of superiority. But yet will meltdown to no end, have violent outbursts etc. then there are some children who are labeled low functioning yet are sweet as pie and adjust and go with the flow no problem. I just hate the divide. The child has autism... Period.. They are all different so why the need to throw in the level of function other than for assessments etc?
