Very interesting! Sadly, that means that as a fly is being crushed, its probably a REALLY slow and painful death.. :( -- A recent study revealed that small animals see in slow motion! As it turns out, time isnt perceived equally by all species. In fact, scientists are now suggesting, after more doing more research than we all would care to read, that smaller species of animals are able to absorb more information in a unit of time than larger species, such as humans. What that means is that animals with fast metabolic rates such as hummingbirds and fruit flies experience time a lot slower than the rest of us. As one of the researchers explains, For example, flies owe their skill at avoiding rolled-up newspapers to their ability to observe motion on finer timescales than our own eyes can achieve, allowing them to avoid the newspaper in a similar fashion to the bullet time sequence in the popular film The Matrix. Furthermore, the study suggests that time perception changes with age, and that is why a short period of time like 15 minutes, can seem like a century and a half to little kids!
