Very interesting, closely fought fight tonight. Lara lost this fight a little more than Canelo won it. He flashed the ability and speed to be able to hit Canelo almost at will down the middle with his left hand, but in the heart of the fight when the scores were essientally even, instead of choosing to throw and land the extra combination he needed to ensure and seal a won round on the scorecards, he opted to take a extra step to the side or backwards to ensure not being hit by Alvarez. That is why he lost tonight more so than any other reason. Canelo may not have been the more pinpoint fighter tonight (he landed almost nothing up top the entire fight) but he was the more determined fighter, and the more consistent fighter. Continually going forward, often throwing more punches and landing to the body. It wasnt pretty and it could have been a draw, but Canelo pulled it out by wanting it more and taking more risks. Early on Lara showed the ability to be the superior fighter, but he let his chance slip through his grasp. Ill say it again: when it was in the heart of the fight, when Lara needed a extra punch or two to seal the deal for a round won on the scorecards, he took a extra side step to avoid being hit with a punch or two.
