Very odd experience I need a new license and I have been putting off going to the NY DMV for my 4th attempt in 15 years to change over my license. I went online and low and behold I can make a same day appointment… so I made one for 2:15 thinking if I get home by 7pm tonight that will be amazing….. I left my house at 2:55 biked to the NY DMV at Atlantic Ave I arrived at the NY DMV at 2:20 for my 2:15 appointment I left the NY DMV with a new license at 2:40 That was WAY TOO EASY for NY!!!! I have attempted to change my license over from MA to NY 3 times over the past 15 years and walked out twice because of 4+ hours of wait time and one time I was told I needed an original Social Security Card and a birth cert on top of my valid passport, utility bills, valid MA license, etc..... historically it was easier to drive four hours to MA to update my license then to deal with the NY DMV…. I am impressed… If you need to go to the NY DMV make an online appointment!
