Very unlucky USA; outstanding character, commitment, heart, desire and effort....which brings me to this point which no one really cares for but I am going to say it anyway. Although I like Roy Hodgson (I may have mentioned how much of a decent honest chap I think he is) there has been a lot of chat, and there should be after our World Cup performance, about who would be a more forward thinking, brighter and braver England manager. Obviously the two ideal candidates would be Brendan Rodgers or Roberto Martinez but neither would want it at this stage of their careers. Now I like the idea of Gary Neville taking it after the Euros but if he isnt experienced enough Ill tell you someone I would be delighted with; Jurgen Klinsmann. Give him an eight year contract and he would oversee a massive improvement. Look at the work he did at Bayern, Germany and what he is doing in America with what is on paper a very average squad (his full backs have looked like Carlos and Cafu, and Jones has been outstanding in the middle of the park). He specialises in looking at all aspects of the team and his work leads to positive changes even if he hasnt been around to see it. Hes made mistakes and failed before but the positives out way the negatives. He loves working with youth, is a great tactician, hes played in the Premier League, hes charismatic and crucially he cares about all levels of the game. His knowledge is unbelievable, he speaks perfect English and hes a winner whose experienced the pressures of International tournament football. Plus (and it is a plus unless your trapped in the 90s when we actually had a rivalry) hes German which would help us at penalties. #astatustosendyoutosleep #Zzzzzz.
