Very valid point. Perhaps if God exists it is not the personified old man with a beard and a bunch of rules ready to judge every human. However other possibilities may be considered, if taken with some of the ancient wisdom of the East. For example, if God is a being of unconditional love who permeates through all material and non material essences of the universe, it shouldnt affect you if you are praying or not. Also perhaps if you live a life with love, kindness and compassion, why should any book written thousands of years ago dictate in black and white what is truly unexplainable. Deep intuition and connection with the whole-ness and oneness of everything that comes in the deep silence and space within thought along with a feeling of complete love and harmony and acceptance of what is in this very moment may lead to a state of consciousness above and beyond all human thought and logic, and maybe one can feel God in their own way as much as they are ready to, with no religion to dictate to them.
