Via Dlight Sky: Heres a simple cartoon explaining what must be done to heal the Palestinian situation. Even if we generally support Israel - we need to understand that their current strategy is unlikely to achieve anything except universal condemnation. There is no excuse for slaughtering civilians day after day, with no genuine military or political objectives. 1.8 million people cant be turned into docile slaves, no matter how much you bomb, terrorize and slaughter them. The only hope of resolution is for the Palestinian people to have a real country, a right to travel, and the ability to build a viable economy free of negative influence from the Israelis. Israels strategy of simply keeping the Palestinians in a permanent state of limbo and under siege - aside from the brutal toll on the Palestinian side - is also having a terrible effect on the Israeli population who are starting to lose touch with any sort of moral compass - instead descending into blind hatred and ignorance. The biggest favor we can do for the Israelis as friends is to help pull them out of this collective madness they have fallen into. The Palestinian problem simply cannot be solved by military force - no matter how many bombs they drop, no matter many how many children die.
