Via Ms. Keiko Itokazu, a member of the Upper House (House of Councillors) in the Japanese Diet (national legislature): Ongoing protest of forced imposition of more V-22 Osprey aircraft in Okinawa. The US has used the prefecture, despite opposition by the prefecture government, for low-level testing and training of the accident-prone aircraft. The Osprey has been in development for more than 3 decades; accidents - including 2 last year - have resulted in fatalities.
