Via messages... i have just received a letter of notice seeking possession order of my home i have paid what i can to the bedroom tax but this is not good enough i have to pay it all!! now i asked if the so called bedroom tax was a charge on benefits which i get dla and my partner receives esa they said yes it was because if you dont pay you then may be evicted now they have admitted it is a charge so this law i then but to them ..............(1)Subject to the provisions of this Act, every assignment of or charge on— (a)benefit as defined in section 122 of the Contributions and Benefits Act; (b)any income-related benefit; or (c)child benefit,and every agreement to assign or charge such benefit shall be void; and, on the bankruptcy of a beneficiary, such benefit shall not pass to any trustee or other person acting on behalf of his creditors. (2)In the application of subsection (1) above to Scotland— (a)the reference to assignment of benefit shall be read as a reference to assignation, “assign” being construed accordingly; i am now going to email my mp as they hadnt heard of this law so when i do and if i go to court i will be asking the same questions, as they are breaking the laws in charging you this .
