Via the KCRG news website, heres a little flashback to when the Field of Dreams Movie Site and land went on the market in 2010. Its interesting to remember a time when it was anyones guess who would purchase the globally treasured Dyersville location, and I had to shake my head in stark realization when I read the very last line of this quote from the story: Who will buy the Field of Dreams? Real estate consultant Ken Sanders, a former Major League Baseball player who is familiar with the property and overseeing the sale, isnt making any predictions. It would be easy to guess a baseball player, a movie buff, or even someone from the films cast. But the movies reach has been so widespread, potential buyers dont necessarily fall within those demographics. It could end up being a non-profit organization, a land trust, or a foreign investor. We might all be surprised. Who knew back then what the Field’s neighbors, the town and its residents would ultimately have to face when that surprise stepped forward.
