Vickers Viscount Network UK researcher Alan Beardmore has posted these two photos of IAC - Indian Airlines Corporation V.768D series Viscount VT-DJA. The first photo was taken at Santa Cruz Airport, Bombay, India circa June 1960, and the second was taken at Heathrow, London, England in the late 1950s and is from the Ed Coates collection (Jennifer Gradidge). This Viscount was built for IAC - Indian Airlines Corporation as VT-DJA and first flew on Tuesday, 8 April 1958 at Hurn, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England powered by Rolls-Royce Dart 510 engines. During its life it was also owned and/or operated by Lane Xang Airlines, and Air Lao. We have no photos of this Viscount with these two operators and any help locating some would be gratefully appreciated. On 12 April 1975 while being operated by Lane Xang Airlines as XW-TFX it crashed at Phnom-Penh, Cambodia killing 4. Returned to service after repairs. Its fate:- Withdrawn from service by Air Lao as RDPL3-4016 and stored in 1985. Broken up for scrap.
