Vicki here..... Marks voice seemed to be stronger yesterday and even though he was quite tired afterwards, he was able to slowly walk one lap around the nurses desk area! We are praising God for this improvement. Dr. Pittmans reminding us to focus on small baby steps. Hes also writing orders for Mark to be able to be pushed in a wheelchair outside to breathe in some fresh air and feel the sunshine, take in a bit of Vitamin D...he has become so pale. Today is day 14 with no food, just ice chips. Since theyve started the nutrition bolus through his Central PIC line, we are seeing him become a little stronger. Hes starting to feel more hungry now...saying that probably just a bite of a sandwich would fill him up.... Dr. Pittman says not for a while yet though, and even then it will just be clear liquids in the beginning.. Still waiting on there to be less drainage from his fistula and keeping a close eye on that. He still has a long way to go and surgery is still not a gone possibility...status is stable, but still guarded. But again, learning to lean on Jesus and claiming each day as they come..
