Victor has been to see the vet at BCDH on Friday last week and has had a very thorough examination and all looks good for the future. He will need to keep the weight off, as being fat will add to the load on his one hind leg and could cause him problems. This is a fabulous dog with lots of love to give. He is 100% clean in his outdoor space, loves to play and go for walks. Victor also travels very well and can be left quite happily. This dog will need some one without very young children as he is large and may easily knock them over. He is not overly keen on coming in the house at the moment as he has lived on the streets and confined spaces are a worry for him, due to the treatment he has endured in Bulgaria. Victor will need an experienced owner who has the time and patience to train him as at the moment he is very mouthy, almost like a young pup would be. He has never had any one being nice to him and so now he over compensates by playing a bit rough, although there is no malice in him what so ever. I am working with him and he is improving slowly. Victor would happily live out as long as suitable accommodation was available for him to get out of the elements, some where warm in Winter and cool in Summer. He will need plenty of space, a farm environment would be ideal. This is essentially a working breed, possibly a Carpathian shepherd X, a tough, hardy dog who is very loyal, bred to mind the sheep up in the hills in Bulgaria. This boy deserves another chance of happiness after all he has been through.
