Victorian Berner Club March social walk Our next walk will be a circuit destination Wilson Botanic Park in Berwick organised by Club members Tony & Lynne Brief: Wilson Botanic Park was established in 1992. A former basalt quarry donated to the community by Mr. George Wilson, grandson of the original land owners in 1854, Wilson Botanic Park has been developed into 39 hectares (100 acres) of scenic and tranquil parkland. With spectacular exposed rock formations, unique fossils over 22 million years old, three picturesque lakes, paths meandering amidst native and exotic gardens and spectacular views , this stunning botanic park is unique in southern Victoria. 7 days a week, 7am - 5pm When: Sunday ~ 30 March 2014 Time: 3pm Where to meet: rear car park behind park offices - Melway 110A7 - off the Princess Hwy, Berwick between Williams and York Roads Any queries, please phone me 0419 587 939. Details: Allow for a good hour for the walk. This a well patronised park and dogs need to be on short lead and no extenda leads. Depending on how every one is feeling (people and dogs) We will follow the path around the lake - note: there is some up hill walking involved but we can take it easy. Children welcome, pushers okay but some gravel paths Toilet Facilities: Public toilets are at the offices near the car park Puppies: If there are any puppies on this walk and Lynne has a very short route for them for their smaller legs, so please come along. Old aged Berners: Some of the older Berners may find the walk too long, we encourage you to come along at the end of the walk and catch up with your human friends as well as the Berners having fun with each other. Afternoon tea: At the ampitheatre, time for a rest social chit-chat BYO food and refreshments. Conditions: Subject to weather conditions (i.e. if it is too hot or TOO wet). Be prepared in case it rains, we recommend bringing umbrellas and rain jackets for the humans and coats for the Berners Dogs must be on leads within the gardens, near childrens play grounds and of course near roads. RSVP: Tony 0419 587 939 or by email bmdwalks @ gogadget.name Why RSVP? In case we cancel or need to relocate we can advise those who let us know your coming along. P.S. This is a walk for BMD Vic members only, newbies welcome along for a trial
