Video Approval Process: And Im human, thus subject to error as well as opinion. Heres what I look at: 1) Are there any moves that are specifically contraindicated by the Zumba Step manual? 2) Are there any moves that arent contraindicated specifically by Zumba, but would be contraindicated by a group exercise or step certification (I hold, or have held, 3 group-ex/PT certs and 1 step cert)? If Im unsure, Ill ask a ZES or err on the side of not posting. 3) Is it Zumba-proprietary content (i.e. someone doing Marcies choreography from the step training video)? 4) Does it appear to follow the Zumba formula? I look for whether its taught like a Zumba routine or a 32-beat freestyle step class (which I also teach). 5) Is the video easily visible and is the audio synced to the movement so we can tell what move happens on what count? I do not determine post-ability based on dancy vs. steppy, how well a person cues, whether they cue verbally or visually, whether theyre alone or teaching a group, or whether they face front or back. There is room in our format for creativity, so I would encourage group members to kind in their observations about others choreography. I post about 50% of what is submitted.
