Vidiot recap from NAB. Acquisition all about 4k and gulp 8k. Not nearly as much 3D as last year. Did see a JVC HD cam configured for studio that probably weighed 2lbs. TC should take a look at that. Huge crowds in the South Hall where all the post gear was showcased. Black Magic has blown up from a booth to probably the largest display area. They have acquired DaVinci Resolve and turned it into a full blown NLE system that looks a lot like X but has remarkable color grading at you fingertips. All the good stuff being powered by the new Mac Pro. Couldnt get near Adobe.. Too many people. Newtek awesome but my brain exploded trying to figure out how you could possible drive it with one or two people. They added a hologram feature to their virtual set. When I saw that, I just look at my colleague, Rusty and said the F word. Live Stream has a studio that will fit in the overhead compartment and lots of fancy touch screen displays for your local weatherman. Great show and lots of people which tells me we are coming out of the recession. That said, I dont need 8k.
