View from the stand Big changes to the line up from last seasons Vase winning team, but the first half performance showed new partnerships and developing ones from the ever dependable TJ, Motty, and Wattsy plus a promising home debut from Sam Wilson up front who had some nice link ups with Dan Mason and a hard working Alex Sawyer. All of this was marshalled by our passionate and committed Captain Byron. Nick had a great shot saved by the Clevedon keeper and their best chance of the half was a miss from only a couple of yards to an open goal. But overall lots of promise and endeavour and we went in at half time 0 - 0 with most of the possession, which was in their half. The second half changed completely though with the surprising substitution of Captain Byron from the start but a great run from the kick off by his brother Dan and a good shot should have put us in the lead but a good save from Clevedons keeper kept it at 0 - 0. But the subsequent loss of direction on the pitch with players and bench very quiet made it difficult to gain any momentum or fluidity. Jack Smith moved from left back to midfield and had a solid second half to go with his first half performance along with Taurean who took his place at left back. Clevedons first goal came from a free kick mix up by us and a resulting defensive error and their second was from an obvious off side goal which was unfortunately missed by the linesman. A great save from Matty in the dying moments kept the score at 0 - 2 with Motty always a threat with his headers from set plays and lots of movement and pace from substitute striker Jude.
