Vincennes University students placed 3,000 flags at the corner of Second and Indianapolis streets on Tuesday as part of the preparation to observe 9/11. The project was sponsored by the VU 21st Century Scholars program. 9/11 is shorthand for four terrorist attacks in the U.S. that killed 2,977 persons on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
