Virginia’s voters will choose the Democratic nominees for lieutenant governor and attorney general today. The winners will fill out the ticket headed by Terry McAuliffe, the party’s nominee for governor. WHO’S ON THE BALLOT? Ralph S. Northam, a state senator from Norfolk, and Aneesh P. Chopra, who has served as secretary of technology for Virginia under then-Gov. Timothy M. Kaine and U.S. chief technology officer under President Barack Obama, are seeking the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor. The winner faces Republican E.W. Jackson. Former federal prosecutor Justin Fairfax of Alexandria and Mark R. Herring, a state senator from Loudoun, are seeking the party’s nomination for attorney general. The winner faces Sen. Mark D. Obenshain, R-Harrisonburg, the GOP nominee.
