Virtual Happy Hours: Minority Medical Student Support This exciting program is funded by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Foundation to provide support, information and encouragement to minority medical students. It meets once a month in a virtual amphitheater by a sparkling sea in the Second Life online platform. Everyone shows up as an avatar, and we hear a brief presentation on issues important to medical students. These are always followed by discussion, questions, support…and of course…an avatar dance party! Just to be clear, this program is for all medical students, not just those with family medicine interests.
