Virtues of Reciting Durood Shareef: 1) 10 sins are forgiven. 2) 10 Mercies will be bestowed upon the reciter. 3) His or Her rank will be raised by 10 degrees (darajaat). 4) Will be protected from the punishment of the grave. 5) Will be given taufiq to perform Hajj. 6) At the time of his death with the blessed with the taufiq to recite Kalimah Tayyibah. 7) Will be given taufiq to visit blessed grave of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) 8 ) On the day of Qiyamah his/her face will be shining like the moon on the 14th night of the month when it is at its brightest. 9) Will be given water from the fountain of Al-Kauthar to drink by the beloved Prophet (s.a.w). 10) It creates love for the reciter in the hearts of other people. 11) Granted shade under the Arsh of Allah (S.W.T) on the Day of Judgement. 12) The reciter is safe from backbiters. 13) Cause of light at the bridge of Siraat. The favorite Durood Shareef of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was Durood-e-Ibrahimi.(transltion as follows)... O Allah, Let your blessings come upon Muhammad (s.a.w) and the Family of Muhammad (s.a.w) as You have blessed Ibrahim (a.s) and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, Bless Muhammad (s.a.w) and the family of Muhammad (s.a.w) as You have blessed Ibrahim (a.s) and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
