Visit Chicago Children’s Museum (Located at Navy Pier,700 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611) on Saturday, September 28 (11 am – 3 pm) to design, test and build using real tools and materials in hands-on stations throughout the museum. The best part: admission is FREE for all visitors! Families with children of all ages will create, build and tinker through a variety of fun activities and make-and-takes, including: •The Launchinator: Calling all budding rocket scientists! This IS rocket science and you’re the astrophysicist at work. Count down to launch and then watch as stuff flies high, higher, highest! •Stomp Rockets: How high can it fly? Design a rocket out of recycled material, then launch it in CCM’s Great Hall. •Hover, Sink & Float: How do submarines go up and down? Build a mini model of a submarine using a film canister. Add different materials, and see if you can you get your submarine to hover in the middle of the water. •Wind Turbines: Design and build your own wind turbine blades and explore an alternate form of creating electricity. •Build a Circuit: Can you work together to build different types of electrical circuits? Create an electrical circuit using a variety of materials and see how creative you can get!
