Visiting the learned Doc for the quarterly check-up is always pretty daunting, especially if the results are moderate. Also Nil By Mouth for 18 hours leaves one gasping for food, so on a very wet Monday afternoon we went to Sandstone on the Darkside ( details on the map). Steak rare, sauteed garlic and onion, fried egg, French fries and garnish arrived at an increased price of 299 Baht. In fairness, Im not surprised they have increased the price in todays market. It was excellent, and large enough to struggle with the last mouthfuls. The Missus had Pla Dory, steamed with a rich mushroom sauce and fries. Price 165 Baht. For today, I had their enormous tuna salad at 90 Baht. It keeps well in the fridge and saves venturing out during the rainy season. This is surely a little oasis on the Darkside and I can only recommend it to you. They are closed on a Sunday.
