It debuted on the black singles charts on 3/26/83 at #76 for 6 weeks and was released by Prelude Records, the home of D Train. Actually, the lead singer of The Music Got Me sounds exactly like James D-Train Williams, let alone Colonel Abrams. Visual was a studio project fronted by Boyd Jarvis and DJ Tim Regisford. Boyd H. Jarvis (born 1958) is an American record producer, remixer and musician, best known for his song, co-written with Jason Smith, The Music Got Me; released in 1983 by Prelude Records. He has musically collaborated with artists such as Herbie Hancock, La Toya Jackson and Johnny Kemp
