Vivo Mobile on Wednesday introduced the new X5Max smartphone at a press event in China. With just 4.75mm thickness, the Vivo smartphone has become world’s thinnest smartphone, piping Oppo R5. The smartphone has been priced at 2998 yuan ($485) and will go on sale beginning December 22 in the Chinese market. The company is also hosting a press event on December 15 in India, where it is expected to announce the launch plans for the country. Coming to the specifications, Vivo X5Max features a 5.5-inch full HD display, 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The phone also packs 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 2000 mAh battery and Android 4.4-based FunTouch 2.0 OS. The company has also included dual-SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity on the phone.
