Volunteer Host Families Needed for Exchange students arriving in August We still have incoming exchange students who need a volunteer family to host them. Welcome families are needed if you are not able to commit to a full school year - by being a welcome family you will host the student for about 6-8 weeks while we find a permanent host family for the student. This allows the student the opportunity to arrive in our community and start school and give you the welcome family the chance to decide if you are willing to host permanently for the school year or just until we find a permanent family - which is much easier to do once the student is in our community and meeting friends at school. This is a great way to enrich the lives of the students as well as your own. The kids are so excited to share their culture and find out they have a host family to go to. Won’t you please consider this as we have students still needing host families? Have you ever wanted to travel internationally but dont have the time or resources? Well, what about hosting an exchange student in your home? Then you will not only have a place to go visit abroad but you will have a familiar family as well. ETC (Education, Travel & Culture) is a non profit organization currently needing to find several host families to host incoming students. The students will arrive in August before school starts. Its a great way to open your hearts and your home to another culture and share yours in the process. Our family has personally hosted 6 students who have all attended Bowie HS and I have supervised over 75 kids from Bryan, Austin to San Antonio. I have had kids attend many of our area schools - to inc. Akins, Bowie, Crockett, Austin High, McCallum, Anderson, Hays,Westlake, Lake Travis, Dripping Springs, Round Rock ISD, and the list goes on. The students speak English, maintain good grades, attend your local high school, have their own spending money and medical insurance as well as a local coordinator supervising them. Many of your kids have met exchange students in high school or played sports or been in clubs with them, your neighbors have been host families, your churches have been attended by our kids, and most of all your lives have been enriched by the experience. Host families provide room/board and assist with transportation (bus, carpool, bike..). Currently, I have some great kids just waiting for a family. We have some Brazilian soccer loving kids, German tennis and soccer players, Italian fashionistas, French aviation enthusiast, Chinese basketball fans, Korean musical kids and the list goes on.... Please consider opening your home and heart to one of my students. Please contact me at [email protected] or lyrobinson2001@yahoo or call 512 585-3662. Thanks for any help you can provide...
