Volunteer for the SOHO building project! SOHO (Saving Orphans Through Healthcare and Outreach) is a non-profit organization. Their website is savingorphans, that will give you more of an idea what they are about. An interior design class last semester had the opportunity to work with SOHO in coming up with a potential design for a house for children in Swaziland, Africa. One students design was chosen to move forward with and now we will be able to build a full scale model of it and have it on display (location TBA). The Carpenters Union in Greenwood is going to be doing the building, however, we are more than welcome to help. If you are unable to lift heavy items there are several other ways you can help (i.e. staining the wood, sanding, hardware). The volunteer times are from 8am-3:30pm from 2/3-2/7. You are welcome to stay as long as you would like--they appreciate any amount of help! The address for the Carpenters Union in Greenwood is 711 Greenwood Springs Drive, Greenwood, IN 46143.
