Volunteers needed for Wet Nose Day! Prior to WND Weekend - Book Sorting / Donation sorting: In the week prior to the weekend of Wet Nose Day, we will be seeking sorters to help us get through the donations. If you are a reader, please let me know and I’ll put you on book sorting as this is a huge job that will require a team of sorters. Our book sale is one of the best, and we would like to continue that tradition. Alternatively if you prefer general sorting, please let me know. Any time that you can give will be much appreciated. Saturday November 15th: Set Up 1pm onwards (We need many hands on deck to put up marquees, trestles and move goods. Sunday November 16th - Volunteer vacancies: (All vacancy times can be split, i.e. you do not need to do the full day. Please let me know your preferred hours). Cat Haven Merchandise Stall - 9-12pm Sausage Sizzle - 1 more volunteer required - 9-3pm or two with a split shift Raffle - 10-3pm - 1 more volunteer or two with a split shift Silent Auction - (Volunteers on this stall can opt to do an hour at a time as its anot very stimulating job, but it is very necessary. I have someone from 10-11am and from 12-1pm, but need the following shifts covered: 11-12pm 1-2pm 2-3pm This one may not go until 3 as we will try to wind up the Silent Auction by 2pm or soon after, so if you opt for the 1-2pm shift and can stay on for a bit, that would be perfect. Cakes/Tea and Coffee: 1pm - 3pm and pack up - Several volunteers required here. Mango Drive: Our Mango Drive delivery is the same day as Wet Nose Day. If you can spare a few hours to assist those already on this, that would be fantastic. Name your time. Gate: We need another Gate person at the Roller Door, and two for the Cottage Door. These are the shifts: Garage Door: 10-12 noon 12-2pm Cottage Gate: 10-12 noon (2 volunteers required here) 12-2pm (2 volunteers required here) Floaters: Ideally we would like a couple of floaters who can fill in on stalls if someone needs to get lunch or wants to look around. If this job appeals to you, please let me know. Pack Up: 3pm - 5pm - This is the big job! The more people who can assist us, the better. Please, please try to stay and help us pack up if you can. Any time you can devote to this task is much appreciated so please let me know if you can help. As always, we couldn’t do this without you, our fabulous volunteers. Wet Nose Day is our biggest fund raiser for the year. Last year we raised $16K and we are endeavouring to make this one even more successful, with your help. Please contact Shirley Patrick, on [email protected] or 0403-21636 if you can assist in any way. Don’t forget that we are looking for pre loved, good quality clothing, books, household goods, toys, bric a brac and plants. We will also be looking for baked goods for our cake stall, although ideally these could be dropped off on the day of Wet Nose Day as we have no fridge storage. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept 2nd hand electrical items. This year we are also running a lucky ticket stall - items will include such things as bottles of wine, small gift packs, jars of lollies etc, so your donations for this would be very much appreciated. Feel free to drop your goodies to Cat Haven at 23 Lemnos Street, Shenton Park between 9am and 5pm 7 days a week and don’t forget to put Wet Nose Day in your diary!
