#Vorwerk #Tipoftheweek #44 (07-01-2015) Ambient noises or background action in a track: When creating an intro/ outro of a track it sometimes help to make use of ambient sounds for a couple of reasons to fill up the frequency spectrum, to give the track some character and build up excitement, or to create a minimum sound reference level. To do this you can use anything actually. Common things like white noise, stabs with lots of reverb on it, sample pack fxs or your actual theme sound but then put in a filter with some cool effects on it etc. Endless opportunities. You can use all your effects and creativity for this kind of stuff. My personal preference always goes to airy type sounds cause those tend to open up your mix in a good way. Airy type sounds are sounds like: Choirs, nature sounds, campfire sounds etc.. I even once used a sample of a bunch of crickets in the forrest with some endless reverb and side chaining to get the job done :-). Always mix in these sounds at a soft volume. You barely need to hear them in your mix but if you take them away you are missing something…
