Vote Tuesday - Vote Asciutto Your Support is Greatly Appreciated Tomorrow, my campaign to be your Republican representative in the NC House will be over. No matter the results of the May 6th primary against Rep. Justin Burr, I want to thank you for your support over these past few months. When I moved here in 1997, I never thought I’d become a politician — raising a son and paying the bills kept me preoccupied. But years flew by, and I took a gamble with Vac & Dash. As the business grew, I got the opportunity to meet all kinds of people from this region. I listened to concerns and took your words to heart: Stanly County needed to grow into a place that would give its children a better future while protecting a culture of conservative rights and beliefs. In 2012, you elected me as your County Commissioner to make that goal a reality. Together, we’ve ended the ALCOA dispute that cost our county millions and seen, through my regular newspaper columns, how our tax dollars are being spent in the community. I’m happy with what we’ve been able to do, but I’m worried that it’s not enough. The state has been giving us the short end of the stick for some time, and the future of our families, schools, and businesses have been bought by men who will never watch the sun sink into Lake Tillery, smell the burnt rubber of an Oakboro Cruise-In or hike a step in the Uwharrie Mountains. We need someone in Raleigh who will look out for our interests, and I’m ready to take on that challenge. I promise to you and yours that, if elected, Stanly County will get the representation it deserves. It’s time to get focused on our future.
