Vote for Bernie Peeters, Scott County Supervisor: Bernie grew up in Eldridge and graduated from North Scott High School where he was an honor student and all-state football player. Bernie continued his education and football career at Luther College and graduated with a double major in Art and History; he also did post graduate work at the University of Iowa and Drake University. He started his teaching career at Fillmore Elementary in Davenport, transferring to North Scott High School after three years. He retired this past May after 39 years in the classroom and as a coach-- including 7 years as a football coach at St. Ambrose University. Bernie currently resides in Eldridge with his wife Maria and their 3 children Abby, Dylan and Sean. Currently in his sixth year of service on the Eldridge City Council, Bernie serves as the liaison to the Eldridge Community Center and is on the Public Works and Negotiations Committees. As an avid student of history, Bernie has also served as president of the Quad City Archaeological Society, Eldridge Junction Questers and Black Hawk Stamp Group. Ive been a public servant most of my life and would like to continue paying it forward for the citizens of Scott County. I believe in sound fiscal management, maintaining county services, progress with accountability and keeping us in the forefront of mental health care.
