W.O.M.A.N., Inc. needs your help in passing AB 1579 - The Healthy Babies Act (womensfoundationofcalifornia.org/2014/05/16/learn-about-ab-1579-healthy-baby-act-of-2014-wpi-domestic-violence-team/) About the AB 1579 (Stone): AB 1579 would allow women to obtain CalWORKs benefits at second trimesters of pregnancy. Currently, they are forced to wait until their third trimesters, often putting themselves and their children at risk. This cash assistance would help to ease financial pressures, eliminate dependence on abusive partners and ensure better health outcomes for their babies. How you can help: Call their office - If you live or work in one of the locations listed below, please call your Senator today. Your senator is a member of the appropriations committee and will be voting on it on Thursday, August 14th. Let them know youre in support! All calls and voice-mails will be counted! Lets show them this bill has a strong backing by enumerating their offices with calls by Friday, August 8th.
