WAITING ON GOD How many times have you found yourself asking impatiently, “How long is this going to take?” Yet God’s timing is different from yours, and you may often find yourself in need of patience. You may think that you are too busy to wait, to allow things to grow naturally. You force solutions, often creating more problems than you solve, especially in trying to acquire a partner. But God works in His own time and in His own way. He teaches you the value of patience. In the larger perspective of life, eternal lessons teach you that patience is required for the things that are really important.It takes times to raise a child, nurture a relationship, grow a career, and create a community. It takes a process to cultivate a seed before it comes to full harvest of fruits or vegetables. So it is with you. When you cultivate patience, you are growing the fruit of the Spirit in your life. Patience is not passiveness, but a proactive faith that is willing to trust God in the midst of difficulties and delays. How do you cultivate patience whilst waiting? By taking each day at a time; Do what you can and let go of trying to control the outcome; Write in your journal – vent, dream and affirm positively the outcome you expect; Meditate on scriptures related to your situation; and PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! Bring your worries, frustrations, and anxiety to God. Tell Him how you honestly feel and ask His help in being patient. Speak words of faith affirming that you trust Him to bring things to full fruition in His perfect time. Affirm: I believe in the full essence of God to make all things beautiful in His time. I have faith that moves Mountains. I have the patience that cultivates great miracles. I am strong, decisive and have the fruit of the Spirit.
