=§~WAKE UP YOUNG PEOPLE~$= Most of us young people suffer from what is known as the short-sighted syndrome. Where we only are able to project as far to the future as our instant gratification would permit. We want the car now, the house now, the marriage now, and the money now. We want all good things to completely fit into this minute moment called now. We dont want delays, set backs or temporary moments of patience and not having. We are only concerned by what we get now and never pay much thought on who or what we want to become in 5, 10 years from now. Hence we have chained ourselves to being slave for money instead moulders of purpose. As my friend Katleho Tsiusaid in his status we want the glamour and glory without much story behind it, meaning without much substance. We are rarely motivated to be anything of substance but rather want to be of shiny possessions. We always seek to acquire things because we have been duped to thinking that is the measure of our worth, by showing how much you have collected, but with not much contribution to improvement of yourself, for society, for the succeeding generation. Most of us arent keen about leaving a good legacy that will be like a beacon of hope and strength for those who will have the task to take humanity forward. There is a huge moral regression happening and it seems we are not even keen to stop this degradation and on slaughter on our souls because we are so consumed with consumption and possessions. When are we gonna take up the bark and become the global leaders citizens that we know we ought to be. Not only for the next generations but for ourselves. We have false role models parading false imagery of wealth and importance , robbing the human soul of its true purpose, which is to be service to others. To be great through uplifting others to greatness and being humbled to engage in others succeeding rather than annialating the competition. But what are competing for? To what end? Just another grave spot filled with unfulfilled potential!? It time that we as young people stop kidding ourselves and admit that our current social construction needs serious re-cognition. The truth comes but we cant hear it when we have been programmed to fear it. Lauryn Hill. Under age drinking, social rebellion to moral conduct. Disrespect of ones dignity, and complete disregard for the planet.. Yes, that too matters. We have become cancerous to everything we touch, and Its time to lose the illusion of shortsightedness and selfish striving, and reclaim the true purpose of our existence which is to be of great service to ourselves and others through contribution not consumption or possession. We need to set the new tone of where we want humanity to go.. We each have that responsibility and we decide the direction of the world with choices we make each day; by what we choose to perpetuate. Do we choose to continue to perpetuate a culture where we are slaves to money and selfishness, greed and indolence or servants to meaning and purpose? The world awaits your response and it will follow your answer..
