WALKING ON WATER: Customary, tested processes are followed in - TopicsExpress

WALKING ON WATER: Customary, tested processes are followed in most ministries. When routine sets in, similar results can be expected month after month. Then many attempt different routes to achieve growth. Should ministry leaders regularly discard the safety of the boat to walk on water? Peter walked on water because he wanted to do the same as Jesus, his trusted leader. We should consider our reasons for stepping out of the boat. Is it just to test the waters? What if some other brave soul decides to follow and then sink? As leaders we need to time our walking on water carefully. Our main function is to lead, so we should know two things: 1. When it is safe for others to follow 2. When our people are ready to follow willingly. We need to stay close to our followers to provide confidence to the fearful, protection to the over-zealous and a steady stride for the rest.
