WARNING! I have personally received a threatening phone call yesterday evening from the US Treasury Dept representing the IRS. The foreigners, David Chambers & Danny Rogers, both with a very thick accent threatened that due to a tax filing error from several years ago, authorities were now on their way to my home to arrest me and would place my children (if I had any) in foster care. As I began asking questions and challenging this caller, he became agitated and cussed at me. He threatened that they would take everything that I had worked for. They would freeze my bank accounts, etc. I told him I thought it was odd that I had not received any notification from the IRS or for my CPA about this. He constantly tried to add fear by saying that the cops were on their way & they would take me into custody as well as my children. He told me we could resolve the entire issue if I paid the amount that was owed. SCARY! Guys I dont owe any back taxes. This was a scam, I called Verizon & verified it with them and with my CPA. BE WARNED & be cautious! This was on the news a few weeks ago, but I didnt catch all the details. Please share this with friends & family, especially senior citizens. Please know the IRS & Dept of Revenue contacts you multiple times by mail, which I did not receive. They never threaten you or your children. This was a SCAM. There is a story on WRAL where a senior citizen in Cumberland County just went thru something like this, but unfortunately she didnt know it was a scam. PLEASE share this.
